Hey, I'm Ty

I'm Tyler Grayson Ellis, an illustrator based in Texas who has been drawing since I was 6 years old. Drawing has been a lifelong passion. I’m deeply involved in the modern illustration scene, especially on digital platforms and social media, where I love connecting with other creators and fans alike. My philosophy is simple: I aim to keep enjoying what I do and to put care into every piece I create.

My strategy is built around two key ideas:

1. I care about my work, and I make sure to nurture it.
2. I often draw fan art, but I always infuse it with my unique style to make it stand out. Fan art helps attract people, and from there, I can introduce them to my original creations.

I’m particularly passionate about video games and Pokémon art, especially focusing on the stronger Pokémon from the series. For the past two years, I've been honing my skills in this area, drawing Pokémon and characters. I also take commissions, whether it's individuals asking me to draw them alongside their favorite Pokémon, or businesses wanting illustrations for projects.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with companies, creating children’s comics, educational books, and even stickers. I love to communicate and engage with my community, whether it’s through comments, fan requests, or breaking down my process for my supporters. Now I decided to share my skills in this course, as my goal is to help others take their first steps in character design and become a part of this wonderful and supportive community of artists.
